Our son Roan

On the 9th of March our son Roan was born! I doubted for a long time if I would let someone else take these pictures as well. But stubborn as I am I decided against it, and took the pictures myself… Newborn pictures should be taken pretty fast, I always try within two weeks of delivery.

I often spend 2-3 hours with such a photo shoot, even knowing that going in I didn’t really realize what I had set out to do… after 1 hour of taking pictures I was completely done with it… I was tired, couldn’t stand anymore and Roan didn’t want to anymore. I really wanted to make some pictures which I liked very much but it simply wasn’t in the cards.

The next day I tried again, but with only one specific picture in mind I wanted. In the end Roan actually slept very well so I was able to take even more beautiful pictures than planned.

I’ve learned my lesson though, in case there another kid comes knocking I will certainly let somebody else take the pictures. This way you can take breaks when needed, and you have a much higher chance to get the pictures that you want!
