Tips for the photo shoot Good preparation is half the job!
Depending on what kind of photo shoot you want to do, you will find some tips below.
Before starting the photo shoot, think carefully about why you want these photos taken, and make sure you are well prepared.
It is wonderful when you come to the photo shoot well-rested. Do not plan your photo shoot on a very busy day, because it will probably show in the photos.
Are you going to the beach or a terrace in the week before the photo shoot? Then watch out for the sun, make sure you do not get sunburned and that no sunglasses are left on your face 😉
Make sure your nails look neat ( including your feet! ) Lacquered nails make for an even more beautiful and complete end result.
If you depilate yourself, do this a few days before the photo shoot. This way your skin has a chance to recover.
Are you prone to shiny skin? Then some matt powder may come in handy, if you have it available.
Do not use powder with glitter, this often does not turn out well with the flash.
If you are not very handy with make-up, you can also outsource it to a professional make-up artist.
à Makeup artist tip: Inge Prummel of Browing in Wijk bij Duurstede.
Don’t worry about a pimple or spot, this can often be easily retouched.
Do you still need a haircut? Then go about a week in advance. That way you can get used to your new hairstyle and it often fits more naturally.
Clothing and wardrobe
Before the photo shoot takes place, think about where you would like to display your pictures. What colors will go best with it?
The most important thing is that you feel comfortable in the clothes you are going to wear. Are you not sure what color? The color of your eyes is always a good choice!
Do not wear too busy prints / large logos / letters, this will distract.
Also be careful with very fine lines and plaids. This can give moire. This gives a kind of rainbow effect on areas of the clothing, which is very difficult to retouch. It is best to choose a plain fabric.
Preferably choose light, soft, pastel or warm colors.
On a dark background, dark clothing can look good. Feel free to discuss what looks best.
Are several people in the picture? Then coordinate the clothes. This forms the most beautiful composition.
Make sure your pockets are empty before the photo shoot. ( Phone, wallet etc )
If you go on the photo with bare legs/feet/belly, make sure you do not wear tight clothing, this can cause stretch marks in the skin.
Are you pregnant? Check my Wardrobe on the website to see what I have on hand! You are welcome to use this during your photo shoot. Beautiful dresses, cloths and bodies.
A business photo? Dark clothing often works very well. This makes the face look even better.
Make sure your shoes also look neat, preferably take them separately to the photo shoot. That way they are cleaner and dry.
Children
Children finely sense their parents’ mood. If you are stressed or in a hurry, they may adopt this. Make sure to leave on tim.
Get yourself ready first and then the kids. This will hopefully keep the clothes clean the longest 😉
Are you coming with more than one child? Make sure they have something to do if they have to wait a while (book, coloring, tablet).
Is your child sick? Let us know in time and we will plan a new date, chances are that a sick child can’t relax well and will look a bit pale in the picture.
Is your little one still sleeping? Plan the photo shoot preferably well before the next nap, or right after. The same goes for food.
Are they excited? Feel free to bring a favorite toy or cuddly toy.
Check before the photo shoot that the face/teeth of your child is clean (food waste, snot bubbles).
And last but not least, have fun! We make it a fun photoshoot with a relaxed atmosphere After the photo shoot you have a beautiful precious memory in wonderful pictures.
